Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how your personal data is collected, used, and protected when you use COT Edge ("the Service", "we", "us"), available at cot-edge.com. We are committed to handling your data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What data we collect

We collect only the data needed to operate the Service:

The Service does not require you to create an account or password. Your license key is stored locally in your own browser.

2. Legal basis for processing (GDPR Art. 6)

• Contract performance — to deliver the Service you purchased (email, license key, subscription management).
• Consent — for non-essential cookies and tracking (analytics, advertising pixels). You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate interest — to keep the Service secure and functioning.
• Legal obligation — to keep records required by Czech tax and accounting law.

3. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies:

• Essential cookies — required for the site to function (e.g. storing your license key locally). These do not require consent.
• Analytics & advertising — we may use Google (Google Ads / Analytics) and Meta (Facebook Pixel) to measure traffic and ad performance. These run only after you give consent via our cookie banner.

You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clearing your browser data or contacting us.

4. Third parties we share data with

We share the minimum necessary data with trusted processors who help run the Service:

• Stripe — payment processing (handles all card data).
• Cloudflare — hosting and security.
• Email/delivery providers — to send your license key and support replies.
• Google & Meta — analytics and advertising, only with your consent.

Some of these providers are based outside the EU (e.g. the USA). Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. We never sell your personal data.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep your email and subscription data for as long as you are a customer and afterwards only as required by Czech tax/accounting law (typically up to 10 years for invoicing records). Analytics data is retained according to the providers' standard retention periods.

6. Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restrict or object to processing
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the Czech Data Protection Authority (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, uoou.gov.cz)

7. Data security

We use reputable providers (Stripe, Cloudflare) with industry-standard security. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

8. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
